would be great if planned strategically, then there is a negative impact that
social media is introducing nowadays. These negative impacts include; the positive contribution of social media
and its return on investment is hard to measure. Since the business companies
spend many dollars on social media adds and customer connectivity, it’s not
clear the portion of returns that social media generates. In other words, it is difficult for businesses to find out
how much worth the marketing activities in social media bring their companies.
Moreover, the company employees represent the business brand image and it’s something critical
to monitor their social media activities. Along with that, its difficult
to make them understand that on such social media platforms are not allowed to
discuss the company issues without proper authorization. There is a risk related to posting information relating to their
companies predefined objectives which they may never know that it would damage
company reputation.
In addition to that, misplaced information in social media is hard to rectify and its
sometimes impossible to reverse in social media channels since it hits on
